Bai Ze provides curated reading experiences based on nonfiction books and ideas — including short bites, longer deep dives, optional audio narration, mindscape profiling, caching of highlights, and related learning tools.

Content in the Service is for personal, non-commercial educational use. It is an original editorial presentation of ideas and is not a verbatim reproduction of any book. It is not a substitute for reading the original work, and we do not claim affiliation with or endorsement by authors or publishers unless we say so explicitly.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, titles, audio, or catalog items at any time. Availability can vary by device, region, account status, or technical limits. As a personally run project, the Service may be limited, delayed, or discontinued without a corporate support organization behind it.

Some materials may be generated or assisted by automated systems. We aim for accuracy, but content can contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. You use content at your own judgment.

You may need to sign in (with email/password or Google) to sync progress, mindscape data, purchases, or other account features. Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Notify us promptly at the contact below if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create risk, or remain inactive for an extended period.

You may not share accounts, sell access, or create accounts by automated means.

We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your own learning, subject to these Terms.

You may not: (a) copy, scrape, crawl, harvest, mirror, or bulk-download the catalog, text, audio, or other content; (b) reverse engineer or circumvent access, paywall, or security controls except where law expressly allows; (c) redistribute, sell, lease, or publicly perform Service content; (d) interfere with or overload the Service; (e) access another user’s data without permission; (f) use the Service to build a competing product or training dataset; (g) upload malware or unlawful material; or (h) use the Service for any illegal purpose.

We may investigate suspected abuse and take technical or legal steps, including rate limiting, content removal, or account termination.

You retain ownership of content you create in the Service (such as highlights, notes, cache items, diagnostic answers, and similar “User Content”), subject to the rights you grant us below.

You grant the operator of Bai Ze a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, sync, process, display, and otherwise use User Content solely to operate, improve, and provide the Service to you (and, where you choose sharing features, to people you share with).

You are responsible for User Content. Do not submit anything that infringes others’ rights or that you are not allowed to share.

We may remove User Content that violates these Terms or law. Deleting account or cloud data may remove synced User Content after processing; residual copies can remain in backups for a limited time as described in the Privacy Policy.

Parts of the Service may be available without a paid subscription, subject to limits we set (for example daily deep dives, audio listens, or mindscape comparisons). Limits, features, and catalog access may change.

Free access is not a guarantee of any particular volume of content indefinitely. Abuse of free limits (including automated use or multiple accounts to evade caps) may result in suspension.

Paid subscriptions (including Bai Ze Pro) unlock additional features described in the app or on https://bebaize.com. Prices, plan lengths, trials, and introductory offers are shown at checkout and may vary by store, region, tax, and currency.

Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by Apple or Google — not by a separate Bai Ze company. Their terms, billing cycles, cancellation flows, and refund policies control those transactions. Manage or cancel renewals in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Purchases through any other checkout we enable are subject to that provider’s rules and any terms shown at purchase.

Unless stated otherwise at purchase, subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable except where required by Apple, Google, or applicable law.

If a free trial or intro price converts to a paid plan, you will be charged unless you cancel in time under the store’s rules. Prices for future renewal periods may change; material changes will be disclosed as required by the store or law.

Entitlements (for example Pro status) are verified through a payments partner. Restoring purchases may require signing in with the same store account used to buy.

The Service — including the Bai Ze name, logos, UI, software, original editorial copy, bites, deep dives, narration scripts we create, mindscape frameworks, and related materials — is owned by the individual operator of Bai Ze or by licensors, and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Book titles, author names, cover images, and trademarks of third parties remain the property of their respective owners. Display of covers or titles does not imply endorsement.

Except for the limited license in these Terms, no rights are granted to you by implication or otherwise. Feedback you send may be used freely to improve the Service without obligation to you.

The Service depends on third parties such as Google (optional sign-in), Apple and Google Play (distribution and billing), RevenueCat (entitlements), Supabase (auth and data), Expo (builds, updates, hosting), and similar providers. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their processing.

Links or references to third-party books, sites, or tools are for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Learning content is general information for personal education. It is not professional advice — including legal, medical, mental health, financial, investment, or career advice. Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for qualified professionals or for the original books.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that content will meet your expectations or be complete. As an independently operated app, there is no guarantee of ongoing support, uptime, or continued availability.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR SERVICE INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US $50).

Some places do not allow certain limitations; there, liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under consumer-protection law.

You agree to defend and indemnify the individual operator of Bai Ze against claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account-related deletion as described in the Privacy Policy and in-app controls.

We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if the Service is discontinued. Upon termination, your license ends. Sections that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute provisions) survive termination.

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when they do. For material changes, additional notice may be provided (for example in-app or by email when an address is available). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription through the relevant store.

Because Bai Ze is operated personally and not as a registered organization, these Terms do not pick a corporate home court or state of incorporation.

Before filing a claim, contact us at the email below and allow 30 days to try to resolve the issue informally.

If a dispute remains, it will be handled under the laws and in the forums that apply by law to you and to the operator — including mandatory consumer-protection rules where you live. Either party may seek emergency relief in any competent court to stop unauthorized access, scraping, or infringement.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms are the entire agreement regarding the Service and replace prior agreements on that subject.
